Let’s suppose you have done some preliminary market research and you think there may be an opportunity to sell your products in several European markets, and you are ready to take the next step and test the market reaction to your products or services.  And let’s further suppose you decide to start with France.

To begin the process, we would meet with you to understand more about your business. We would then determine the main message you want to convey that will differentiate your business in France, with an emphasis on the key words and phrases you think potential customers will use to find out more about your products or services.  

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is used to refer to both "Natural" search marketing, also known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Advertising or Pay Per Click (PPC) plans to attract customers via search engines.

Through a processes known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), we will use the information you provided us with respect to keywords and phrases and construct what we call a “gateway” page, or page that introduces your company.  These keywords and phrases are basically what the various search engines look for when a potential customer types them into a search engine.

 

We will strategically incorporate these keywords and phrases into the text of your page, as well as in the HTML code that is used to build your page.  We understand that there is an art and science to appropriately placing these keywords and phrases within each page, being careful not to place too many, or too few, and what words can be used to give you a relative advantage over your competition.  We also understand that each search engine is different with the “rules” that must be followed when submitting pages to their search engine, and moreover that search engines within each country has different rules as well. Once we gather the information we need from you to complete the first phase of the optimization process, we will then submit a “mock up” page for your review.   This page will also be translated into French (or any language you have chosen) taking into consideration your current brand image and presence, in addition the cultural and linguistic uniqueness of each market and language. After your final approval, we then submit your gateway page to the various key search engines in France.  Over time (this will depend on the search engine and market) your gateway page will continually gain visibility within the natural search engine area on each of the key search engines in France.

The first thing we do after our initial consultation with you is to create an "entry" or "gateway" page that can be submitted to search engines in the global markets you select.  Let's now take Chinese as an example.  This Entry or Gateway Page will be consistent with your Website look and feel, and be fully optimized to achieve top rankings in the selected markets.

 

We understand that there are different accents, different symbols and different alphabets, and the rules, regulations, and algorithms vary by market and search engine within each market, which is why a thorough understanding of international search engine optimization is important.

When we submit your page to the selected search engines, we make sure the top engines in each market are included.   We know through our extensive and ongoing research what they are and what criteria they use to determine what is needed to achieve high rankings.

 

When a prospective customer does a search and finds your Entry or Gateway Page, they will see at the bottom a link to your home page, with an explanation in Chinese that once they click on this link they will go to an English only site, and that all subsequent correspondence will be in English.   (If you prefer to have your Website translated into Chinese or Italian for example, and if you are able to conduct an ongoing communication in Chinese with prospective customers then we can assist with this translation as well).

The prospective customer then clicks on the link at the bottom of the page and is transferred to your main page.  We have found through our experience that 85% to 90% of foreign users will click through to your English language home page!
